The #BBCAN Crystal Ball
I conjured up my Ouija board tarot cards magic wand crystal ball tonight, and here's what it had to say about what the next few weeks hold, as the last group of Big Brother Canada contestants are released into the big wide world.

Big Brother Around the Web: Facts You (Maybe) Didn't Know About Peter
Peter's college buddy Karl offers up five interesting facts you may not know about Peter via his website.
![]() |
Mastermind of...? |
Karl doesn't seem to be following the live feeds, or else he'd already know the following facts:
1) Peter's game is being massively overhyped by the show's editing,
and
2) We know all about the chicken fingers thing.
This was Pete's dinner last night, while the rest of the house was eating surf and turf and sushi for a task that he'd passed:
![]() |
Yes, that is a caesar salad, one of the few semi-healthy food items he can tolerate.
If Alec goes on Thursday, which is looking more and more likely after Emmett and Jillian flipped back late last night - as of right now I see Topaz or Peter following him right out the door. If Peter was really playing the savvy under-the-radar game he's trying to play, he'd be strengthening alliances and trying to chip away at the Buck Chargers either by positioning himself with Topaz or with Andrew/Talla, but instead, he's slipping into an outsider position and not doing much to counter it.
![]() |
No caption, I just needed an excuse to use this cap. |
I want to root for Peter - I tend to like the weird, strategic underdogs - but just like Alec, I'm disappointed by his game so far.
It's not over until he's out the door, of course, and Peter is still playing a good under-the-radar strategy. The problem is that at this point, being off the radar is going to mean he's an easy target to slide right out the door without leaving any upset allies at a final six or five HOH.

Spelling Out the Obvious
Want a current breakdown of the house alliances?
Look no further than tonight's dinner seating arrangement.
That is all.
Werk
It's been a day of work in the Big Brother house.
About halfway through the day, feeds went down for a few hours for the POV ceremony and preparation for the dinner, which the house earned as a result of Peter's task from Marsha the Moose.
![]() |
Putting on the moves during bedroom lockdown |
Alec woke up after sleeping off last night's fight with Emmett and Jillian and immediately went to work entertaining the house and trying to get firmly on everyone's good side. He's not actively campaigning against Topaz, but... he's not exactly not campaigning, either. It's a fine line. He'll sell himself without selling her out.
His Hail Mary, as he outlined last night, is to promise Emmett and Jillian that he would actively sit out the next Head of Household competition, a promise he's privately told Peter that he intends to stick to.
For one week, anyway. After that, he's going after Jillian and Emmett with a vengeance.
![]() |
Trying to get a word in edgewise with Talla on speed |
Somehow in all the chaos of the last few days, it seems like Topaz didn't truly believe she was going on the block until it happened, so she's been much grumpier tonight, hanging by herself while Alec works the house.
She vented to Talla - naturally, she's angry that she could have won the competition and trusted Jillian, who's now broken all three promises that she made. (Jillian disputes this, saying she only broke two of the three, and that putting up Topaz as a replacement pawn doesn't actually violate what she promised her. Sure, Jillian, whatever helps you sleep at night, especially as you contemplate sending Topaz to jury.)
![]() |
I'm all out of faith, this is how I feel |
Emmett, meanwhile, is torn - he seems to switch from Topaz to Alec and back again depending on who he's talking to. As angry as he was after the conversation with Alec last night, something about it resonated, and he wondered all day today if he's better off keeping Alec instead of Topaz.
He's also trying to pressure Jillian into going for a 2-2 split vote in which she would break the tie, because... well, he's not giving a great reason for it, though it would be super for his game... in a final two against her.
Good thing that invitation to her sister's wedding is in pencil.
![]() |
A head scratcher |
Jillian at this point is changing with the wind too, though her wind smells suspiciously like milk and tattoos. She's worried about being a target next week, so Alec's sit-down promise is tempting, especially since Topaz isn't offering anything like that.
In the meantime, she and Talla are going after Topaz for the dregs of a mostly fake girls' alliance later tonight, and Topaz's reaction to that may well determine whether Jillian supports keeping her in the house, or decides that Emmett's split-vote and Alec's sit-down HOH are more tempting to her game.
![]() |
Talk to the hand |
![]() |
Shielding |
Peter is locked and loaded to do the campaigning against Topaz that Alec refuses to do, already starting to sell her vengeance to Emmett to try to preserve the Shield.
Alec said to Peter tonight that his life is in Peter's hands. It seems like they may have worked out that Peter will have to do the campaigning against Topaz, since wherever Alec is in his torrid soap opera of a relationship at this point, he just can't bring himself to do it.
![]() |
Mr. and Mrs. Jones |
Talla, meanwhile, has been on crack today. She spent some time after the task reveal dancing around the house jabbering to Tom's monkey Mr. Jones, until Big Brother broke down and confiscated it. They instead gave her a card that said "Do you love it?", her catchphrase, which she's been alternately wearing, talking to, and promising to marry.
In the middle of all of this, she's working as Jill's lackey in this arrangement with Topaz. It seems like she wants the guys out of the way one way or another, and Alec is simply another means to this end.
So right now, the votes are looking like this:
Andrew: Voting out Alec
Talla: Voting out Alec
Peter: Voting out Topaz
Emmett: Could vote out Topaz or Alec
Jillian: Could cast the swing vote either way if Emmett votes out Topaz.
Alec is probably still going home, but things aren't looking quite as dismal as they did twenty-four hours ago.
And, hey - what ever happened to that "mundo power"? No one is acting like they have it, especially not Jillian, so we might be looking at a Wednesday night public vote, in which case, it really will be anyone's game.

Quattro's Ghost
It was an eventful night up north in the Big Brother Canada house last night.
The houseguests realized that Tom's picture was back in color and spent much of the evening spotting signs around the house that pointed to his imminent return.
![]() |
Did you hear that? |
By this point, Talla was so spooked that she took a broom to protect Jillian, who thought she heard a dog barking in the backyard and went to investigate.
![]() |
Safe from Tom |
So is Tom returning to the game? Of course not, the whole thing seems to be the work of Peter, who was spotted earlier in the day hiding many of the objects that were later found, including Tom's monkey.

Quattro's dying breath |
Speaking of Emmett and Jillian's paranoia, the nu-Quattro members finally had the confrontation they've been building towards for days. Oddly, they did it out in the open by the kitchen, in angry whispers.
Topaz was spotted on another feed silently picking her nails in the bathroom for most of the duration of the argument. Listening in? If so, she probably didn't hear anything that would have contradicted the truths Alec laid out for her earlier in the day. The conversation seemed to be his legitimate attempt to salvage Quattro and his showmance and get Talla on the block. He didn't argue against putting Topaz on the block, but he didn't endorse it enthusiastically the way he would have a week or two ago.
![]() |
Deflecting a target |
Alec tried to convince them he would still be loyal, including an offer to literally sit out the next HOH competition, but Emmett wasn't having it. Both of them grew more and more angry, with Peter and Jillian trying to calm them down.
![]() |
Emmett's favorite ally |
Emmett was trying to create some indignation over Alec's moves in the house, but Alec was able to blow off most of his arguments.
The real truth here is that Emmett found a better deal in a final four with Andrew and Talla, where he's at a competitive advantage, and he wanted to take his chances. Oddly, this may mean he goes home if he loses the final contests, but he seems willing to take that risk.
He and Jillian pow-wowed afterwards and decided that Alec and Peter were condescending pricks, and it looks like their original plan is still on. Emmett did point out that keeping Alec could neutralize Talla, and leave them with no enemies in the house, so it's not out of the question, but it's looking slim.
![]() |
Alec, or "Toast" |
Either way, the oddness hasn't stopped, and this should be an interesting week. Alec's only hope at this point is the magical camera tree veto, so that's about where his game stands.

Confidential to Alec
Dear Emperor of Doom,
You've been listening to me the last few days, it seems.
I said that I wanted you to come to your senses and recognize your mistakes with Topaz, and boy, you listened, creating maybe the best tragedy Big Brother has seen in years. Shakespeare couldn't have crafted it any better himself. This villain redemption arc should play out quite memorably on Canadian cable TV, and bravo to you for it.
So, it's done, and your time playing the game of your life is winding to a close. You've lost. You're going to hang out with Gary and AJ in a ski lodge somewhere for a few weeks before coming back to cast a final vote and try to figure out a way to party with the US reality stars in Vegas next summer, which seems to be one of your primary motivations for doing the show. (You should totally hit our New York City BB15 Premier Party in June, by the way, but we can discuss that later. Moving on.)
What do you do next?
There's one major thing Alec needs to do in order to preserve a Big Brother legacy for himself, and it's the one thing that hasn't occurred to him yet.
He needs to sit Peter and Topaz's asses down stat, and make them realize that if they can't crack the Team Nova Scotia/Buck Chargers/whatever alliance (Buck Chargers is TNS + Talla), they've got to trust each other and work together 100%.
Peter and Topaz are both poised to lose Alec as their key ally, and this is simply not a good time to be playing solo in the game. Peter needs Topaz's fire and aggression, and Topaz needs... well, she needs a warm body to align with, and Peter is that, at least. If it takes a mutual desire to avenge Alec in order to unite them, fine, but if they continue to be distant, their games are over and they'll be hanging with him pretty soon.
Alec's gameplay is the perfect illustration of why strategic alliances matter more than alliances with people you actually like. Hell, it's perfect if they can't stand each other, all the better - just as long as they stay loyal. The fact that they've barely spoken the entire game means that if they can keep it quiet, no one will see them coming until it's too late, as obvious a pair as they are.
Alec's best move at this point is to quietly accept his fate and work to see that his loyal allies are established in the game before he scoots out the door on Thursday. If so, he might actually have someone worth voting for in the finals. If not, well, they'll have a fun April together in the Jury House.

Well, maybe. It'd still take a good HOH/POV run, but that's always going to be easier with two people than with one.

Ash: The Telephone Game
Ash is back with another overnight analysis. Take it away, Ash!

The new power alliance |
"It's spring and things quite possibly might be heating up in the BB Canada house. Jillian claimed victory over Thursday night's HOH comp after battling it out in the end with Topaz. Deals were made, but until we see the episode (or possibly after dark) it's not clear what those deals actually were. Jill and Topaz have both made the statement that Jill promised Topaz safety, but the rest is a little more foggy depending on which one you talk to. Topaz claims and told Alec that Jill promised to put up Andrew and Talla and to keep their significant others/showmances safe. Alec relayed this information to Emmett who went to Jill and asked if she made such a deal. Jill says no. She says she promised not to put Topaz up, but beyond that, Topaz said she was going to put up Andrew and Talla and Jill said she MIGHT do the same.
![]() |
Unshielded |
Jill and Emmett still working as one unit are planning as of now to put up both members of The Shield alliance, with Alec to be the target to go. Emmett says once they are nominated he still plans to play his alliance with Peter and Alec as long as he can and is going to feign shock at Jill putting them up. What he doesn't know is that Alec via Topaz via Talla already knows that Emmett has a deal with Andrew and Talla and will likely not be all that shocked to be targeted. While Talla is still in the house there will likely be no scheming that isn't tattled from one side to the other. It's disappointing to say the least since half the fun of watching BB live feeds is watching the strategy that involved betraying one's alliances...sigh.
![]() |
Uh oh. |
Jillian has also spoken to Talla and Andrew and told them of her plan to put up Peter and Alec. They both agree that worst case scenario would be Topaz winning and taking Alec off so that they would have to put up Andrew or Talla, but they still have the votes to get Peter out if that happened.
I will admit that I kind of hate to see the Shield broken up and a large part of me kind of hopes that somehow Topaz or Talla end up on the block and voted out (and yes I know this isn't likely). Regardless of what happens I think this should be an interesting week. It's a far cry from the boring drag weeks where everyone wants the same person out. I'm hoping to see some hard gaming and maybe even some explosions this week. That's why we watch, right?

In other news, the relatively perceptive Emmett doesn't only have his eyes on Peter and Alec at this point. Talla seems to be on his last nerve with her flighty floating back and forth to power, or being a "jumper" as Topaz calls her. He has also decided she is not as stupid as she seems and that she is most likely acting. Talla should probably stop being "busy" when it comes to gaming at this point or her number is going to be up really soon too. Not that seeing her walk would make me sad. My eardrums would be so grateful.
So that's just a little update on where we are at. There are a million other twists and turns in strategy going on right now. What do you all think is going to happen? What would you like to see happen?"

When Feeds Get Boring I Blog: By Ash
I have a special treat for you all during tonight's feed outage.
Video contributor Ash, who was also one of my fellow cohosts on the Big Brother Gossip Show last season, has stepped up to contribute her blogging skills to Play By Play!
Welcome, and take it away, Ash:
"When Feeds Get Boring I Blog:
So what exactly IS going on in the BBCan house? Well, not a whole lot this week. Although I am really liking this season in general so far, this week has been an easy, we all love each other (except for Suzette of course) so let's have family dinners and play in the pool together kind of week. Not the kind of week us live feeders usually thrive on. There HAVE been some strange whisperings going on in corners from time to time though, and these are the things I'm excited to see play out. We already know that barring any strange new twists, Suzette will walk out the door tonight, but I want to know what it is that's going to happen in the coming week.
For those of us who have already realized that Alec has to be some distant, or not so distant relative of Grumpy Cat, it comes as no surprise that he is discontent with his current "showmance" situation. Alec has been talking all week to almost anyone who will listen about how he is..well "just not that into her". It all started with the ipod debacle when apparently the often sleepy Topaz fell asleep wearing Alec's ipod and so the powers that be (in this case Big Brother) took the ipod away and left Alec with no HOH music to listen to for the week. This began the rift and at first Alec just complained of Topaz's distance from him after said incident. But, slowly but surely more details started to leak out until he was pretty much out and out saying "she isn't my cup of tea, but if I tell her that, I'm afraid I will lose her as a card to play in the game.". Topaz of course isn't a dumb girl and is somewhat on to the fact that Alec may not be on her side as much as he would like her to think. She is also likely aware that he will have no trouble sending her off to jury house when it comes down to her or one of his alliance members. Her true allegiance seems to lie with Gary for the most part. As a die hard feed watcher and commentator, I am of course dying for the shit to hit the fan between the two because it will make for interesting viewing.
Speaking of Gary...Someone has a new power in the house and as of yet we don't actually know what it is. Earlier in the week there was a task given by BB in which AJ and Suzette had to go on a double date and were not allowed to pick people currently in showmances... they chose Peter and Talla (mostly by default). The feeds were shut down for the actual dinner, but when they came back, we were given hints to the idea that there had been some kind of pinata for the HGs not currently on a date to bust and apparently candy and some sort of prize came out of it. Gary won the prize...but here is where it gets interesting. Several people have called it a veto and several have called it a veto ticket. Gary himself has told several people that it just allows him to play in the coming weeks veto comp even if he is not picked, but he told Suzette that it allows him to replace one of the nominees if he so chooses. I don't know what the truth is, but obviously there is a huge difference between a veto ticket and a diamond power of veto. I suspect that the task will be broadcasted as some of the filler on tonight's eviction show and we will learn what it actually is, but it's fun to speculate in between. If Gary actually holds a DPOV then he is completely safe this coming week..which is good for his game since more than a few people have been whispering about wanting him out. But, if it's only a veto ticket, it just means he is assured that he won't be truly back doored as he will have a chance to play in the POV comp.
There is also supposedly another "big twist" to the game about to be revealed tonight. I am hoping that some people's speculations are right and that maybe it will be that this week is a double HOH. That would liven things up..especially given the way this house has broken off. Provided the two HOHs were not already a unit like Emmett and Jillian or Alec and Peter, picking nominees could get very very hairy. The double HOH is all pure speculation though, and we won't actually know the twist until we watch the show (or someone who was at the live show leaks it).
I am torn about what I would like to see happen in the coming week. Anyone who follows my twitter knows that I am not a fan of Talla, but I think she has a good chance at HOH if it's an endurance comp, and I think a Talla HOH would be highly entertaining. She is the epitome of a wild card. Not only do I not know where her head is, I can barely understand the sentences she makes..when she finishes them. So, having her in power would be something to behold. The only person I am pretty sure would be safe in that instance would be AJ..and I'm not even 100% sure of that.
I am a fan of The Shield alliance, and I would like to see them make it far in the game, but I must admit, because they are not playing an anywhere near perfect game, I would like to see a few things happen that they did not plan out or some things that might make them poop their pants just a little worrying if things will work out in their favor or not. Nervous house guests make for interesting feeds.
I am also pretty okay with Emmett, Jillian, Topaz, and Gary at this point, and I enjoy watching Andrew and AJ as well. I wasn't sad to see Tom or Liza go at all. I was excited that Tommy the tool and his lizard tongued succubeast were evicted, but the problem now is that I don't really strongly dislike anyone outside of a few people who mildly get on my nerves. So I honestly don't have many people I am rooting for harder than the others. I am just hoping the HOH win will be whoever can shake up the house the most this week.
So that's it, that's where I'm at and that's pretty much what happened this week. Now I just get to sit and wave bye bye to Suzette and all her tears and self pity and hope for a big week this week. What do you all think? Any speculations? Who are your favorites?"

I Am Not a Muppet: The Shield Conquers the DR
From our good friend Ash comes footage of tonight's joint Diary Room debut of The Shield, which is rapidly emerging as Big Brother Canada's answer to Chilltown.
Not bad, not bad. The "mocking each other" shtick plays well, and Alec does have superior impersonation skills.

"Well, we know the soundproofing works." |
Hey, if this Big Brother strategy thing doesn't work out for them, maybe they have a future together in comedy.
(Does everyone know Pete and Alec are planning to move in together in Vancouver after the show? I look forward to the inevitable Youtube channel.)

Hot Tub Time Machine
In the wee hours of Sunday morning, insomniac feed viewers caught an interesting little chat out in the hot tub between Alec and Andrew. Emmett was also there, but said almost nothing, letting the other two do most of the talking.
Dr. Won't |
Given that Alec thinks he has Andrew wrapped around his finger, which Andrew disagrees with, the dynamics of the conversation were interesting. So interesting, in fact, that in checking various feed discussion forums this morning, no one seems to agree on the true subtext of the discussion.
Alec openly talked about cutting Topaz in the next few weeks. Andrew listened to him also talk about getting rid of AJ and Talla and didn't disagree. Andrew basically called him out on being closely aligned with Peter, which Alec didn't disagree with, and Alec even sort of agreed when Andrew classified Peter as a floater. They discussed who they could and couldn't target, and who they could and couldn't stand to see targeted. The house divide was on full blast, but they were so polite about it, it's difficult to see if either one understood the full context of what they were getting at.
They even talked about Alec's $10K win in this week's HOH comp, which Andrew is still bittercakes about. Alec tried to downplay it, pointing out that it doesn't matter in the house (oh, but it does), and that it will just go right into his massive educational debt.
![]() |
Pretty boy, shhhhhh |
Emmett showed the best game play in the hot tub last night, by keeping his trap shut and listening. Emmett and his pretty face are sitting pretty in this game right now. The house division for the next weeks is starting to show, and everyone wants him and Jillian on their side. He's a comp threat whether he cheats or not, but he's so likable and charismatic, everyone just assumes he's working with them.
It worked for Hayden on BBUS Season 12, and Emmett is on the path to the finals if he can keep it up.
![]() |
Frenemies? |
If Andrew is still as upset with Alec as he claimed to be early in the week, he's playing a good game right now. He's stoking Alec's trust and collecting information from him, and is getting to the point where he could easily take the nuggets he has and use them to try to take Alec down. At the same time, he's safe for now with Alec apparently wanting to drag him even further than Gary and Topaz. If he can keep the target off his own back, laying low might not be a bad idea.
The easiest way to figure out what Alec and Andrew each made of their conversation will be to watch what Alec says to Peter today, and what Andrew says to AJ today. Keep in mind that what they don't say could be more revealing than what they do.
The players don't have much to strategize about at the moment, since Emmett holds the Power of Veto and has no interest in saving Suzette, but that makes this the perfect time to assess where they stand and start drawing up plays for the coming weeks.
