Dan Joins Sophie and Sam in the Safe House...And the Public Vote

In case you missed it, after Jackie was evicted, the housemates choose Sophie and Sam to move into the safe house.  In a Big Brother twist, unknown to the housemates, whoever was selected to move into the safe house, would be up for eviction.  Sounds like production has been working overtime to find out a way to keep Gina and Dexter off the block.

To make matters worse, Sophie and Sam, still unaware that they are up for eviction and still being told that they are immune from the public vote, are being allowed to select another housemate to join them in the safe house…and that housemate will also be up for eviction.

On Sunday, Sophie and Sam had narrowed their choices down to three housemates: Jack and Joe, Callum and Dan.  Things are about to get very interesting.

On Monday, Sophie and Sam had to make their final selection and they picked…DAN!!!

And why did they pick Dan?  I will let Sophie tell you: “Dan, yeah, I like Dan, I love Dan, it’s difficult for me now because I love Dan to bits and I’d have him in here any day, and the twins I love them as well, but I know the twins are safe, and I know Dan’s not as safe as the twins and Callum’s not as safe as the twins.”  Whoops.
So, what do you think of the twist? How do you want to see evicted on Friday? Sounds off below and let us know what you think!

BBUK Nomination Day!!! Plus a New Nomination Twist!!!

It’s nomination day!!! As an added twist to the fake eviction twist, Gina and Dexter get to watch the House Mates in the DR make their nominations and the reason for their nominations.  Talk about getting a lot of valuable information…should be interesting when they finally leave the secret house of luxury.

As for the votes, here ya go:

Jack and Joe – Charlie and Wolfy
Callum – Wolfy and Hazel
Dan – Wolfy and Callum
Sam – Wolfy and Sophie
Jackie – Wolfy and Callum
Hazel – Callum and Wolfy
Daley – Callum and Wolfy
Charlie – Wolfy and Callum
Wolfy – Charlie and Dan
Sophie – Sam and Hazel

So, up for nomination this week is Wolfy, Callum, Charlie and Hazel…well, kind of.  In what is turning out to be the summer of the twists, Big Brother has thrown another twist in the mix: Gina and Dexter get to take one House Mate off the block and put up for eviction of their choice.  Can you say WOW!!! I know I can.  WOW!!!

Who do you think Gina and Dexter should take off the block?  Who should be their replacement nominee? Let us know in the comments below and tune in tomorrow to find out who Gina and Dexter saved and nominated.

BBUK Nomination Day!!!

Welcome to, what I am calling, the first REAL nomination day for 2013 BBUK!!!  Okay, Okay…Michael, the People’s Puppet, actually made the first nominations from the “will of the people,” but this will be the first true nominations from the House Mates themselves.  I don’t know if I am more excited for the actual nominations…or all the drama from the fallout after nominations.  Yes, I know, stupid question.  The drama afterwards.  Should be fun!!!

Through the grapevine, I am hearing that nominations will be live.  I am not sure what “Live” means to BBUK this year, but for BBCAN, their definition of “Live” didn’t come close to the definition of “Live” for the…rest of the world.  Either way, by this evening, we should know who is nominated and panic for a couple of people should be sitting in.

Before I get to a breakdown of the remaining HMs, there is one other bit of news I would like to share.  If there is one thing that I LOVE about BBUK, it is that they actually punish the HMs for breaking the rules.  Yes, I know that this is an unknown concept for strictly BBUS fans, but for the rest of the BB world, it is glorious!!! And I LOVE it!!! Over the weekend, there were apparently a couple of HMs – Jackie, Jemima, Joe and Hazel - that decided to discuss nominations.  This is a big “No No” in the BBUK house and of course, Big Brother was watching and listening.  Can you say busted?  Oh, yes we can.  And what delicious punishment did BB hand out to these rule breakers?  They got sent to BB Jail!!! Oh hell yes they did.  Absolutely marvelous!!! As much as I love this, I still have one problem: if Jack and Joe are playing as one, why wasn’t Jack sent to jail as well? Can you imagine the fighting and drama that would have caused between Jack and Joe?  That would have been phenomenal.  BB, you dropped the ball on this one.  Don’t let it happen again.

On with nominations.  Here is a quick breakdown of who is still left in the house and my thoughts on nominations:

Jack and Joe.  Identical twins playing as one.  I know that most people find their banter dry, but I find them hilarious.  So far, they have been mingling with everyone and have managed to stay in the background.  They should be safe this week.

Callum.  My initial thoughts were that he was a douche.  So far, he has been okay.  Other than hitting on Charlie 24 hours a day, he has been a wall flower.  He should also be safe this week.

Jemima.  From a public standpoint, she garnered some sympathy after being formally warned by BB for what BB perceived as racial statements in her “discussions” with Gina.  As for how she is doing with her House Mates, she seems to be on the outside looking in.  She should be concerned this week and I would not be surprised if she is nominated.

Sam.  He started out a little shaky with constant “winkie” comments, but has since calmed down.  I don’t see him as being on any one’s radar.  He should be safe.

Wolfy.  Now, this is a tough one.  Don’t get me wrong, I like Wolfy.  After the beating she took last week, I think she deserves a free pass from nominations.  But, I think the HMs are starting to wonder if she is a little too emotional.  During a comp, it was implied that she might be a mole.  She got upset by this and let everyone know.  In my opinion, bad move.  Now, everyone is looking at her like a whiner.  There are times when you should just shut up.  This was one of them.  Will this affect her to the point of being nominated? Probably not, but I think if she keeps whining, it will not be long before she find herself on the block.

Sophie.  Hang on, which one is she? I think she is the other blond one. Such a wall flower that I think that the other HMs have forgotten that she is even in the house.  I don’t believe that she has anything to worry about.

Dexter.  After getting off the block last week, his blow out with Sallie, and his made up romance with Hazel, I don’t think that there is any doubt that he is going be nominated.  Welcome back to the block Dexter.

Gina.  Initially, I was not a fan.  Still not a fan, but she is starting to grow on me. She stated to show promise with her row with Sallie and Jemima, but she went completely radio silent after being nominated.  I don’t expect to hear much from her this week either.  She should be safe.

Hazel. She has been sitting back and taking everything in.  She appears to be trying to form an alliance with the cool kids, but has not really done anything in furtherance of it. She is very sneaky and should be around for a while.  She is safe this week.

Dan.  He has been stirring it up…a lot lately.  He thinks that he has this game figured out after getting lucky by calling out Michael as a mole.  (By the way, for the diehard fans, Michael was not a mole, he was the People’s Puppet – yes, there is a difference – Google) In fact, I think he has stirred so much up that he just landed himself a spot on the block.  He should be concerned this week.

Daley.  Other than crying in the DR and working out in the yard by himself, he has not had that much of a presence.  He should be okay this week.

Charlie.  She and Callum seem to be hitting it off.  She does complain a lot in the DR about not being able to be herself due to her mom being in the house, but other than that, she has been in the background.  She should be safe this week.

Jackie.  Charlie’s mom.  Everyone seems to like Jackie.  She has been giving dance lesson, telling jokes, and helping cook dinner.  She is not a threat and is probably the safest one in the house.

Okay, there are my thoughts.  We should know in a couple hours who will be up for eviction.  In the meantime, what do you think? Agree or disagree? Sound off in the comments below and let us know!!!

Big Brother Around the Web

Before dissolving into an argument about the PC terminology for black Canadians(*), the Survivor Sucks thread had some interesting posts overnight. I recommend starting with this page and maybe skipping the couple after it.

The enigma continues
Among the talking points that raised my eyebrows:

-Alec feels emasculated by Topaz and both loves and hates her
-Topaz is both the reason why Alec ditched Tom, and a proxy for his inner geek issues
-Topaz is a new kind of showmance, not doing whatever the man says
-Alec is jealous of Emmett and his subservient showmance
-Alec should have showmanced Talla, and AJ is in love with Topaz
-Topaz + Alec = Sophie + Kris (BBUK)

Based on what we've heard about the Diary Rooms ("Please stop talking about Production!" -Polite Canadian Big Brother), I expect the cracks in the showmance to be featured for the first time probably on tonight's episode. Hello, iPodgate! Very curious to see what both Alec and Topaz are telling the Diary Room, compared to what they're telling their friends in the house.

It did seem like Alec was flipping back to protecting Topaz again in some of his conversations with the boys last night, as if he's still giving off the impression he's willing to cut her, while actually encouraging the others to keep her around longer.

Does that mean he's over his butthurt about the iPod? Or is he coming off slop brain and back to his strategic senses, realizing that he should be trusting Topaz much more than Andrew or Emmett at this point? It just makes no sense to want to cut the girl who's honest to a fault with you, over the guys who are clearly holding back information and are also far more likely to beat you in the end.

(*)I'm not an expert on this myself, but I was surprised when I heard people in the house referring to Topaz as African-American, which I guess isn't wrong, but "black" seems to cover it, too.
